Spine Surgeon Theodore Fisher M.D. Performs Florida Advanced Spine and Orthopedics’ First Cervical Total Disc Replacement Surgeries Using prodisc® C Vivo

Tampa, Florida, May 26, 2023 – Spine Surgeon Theodore Fisher MD, today announced the successful first implantations of the prodisc® C Vivo Cervical Total Disc Replacement (TDR) product. The product was approved in July of 2022 by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for 1-level indications and is part of a portfolio of four FDA approved prodisc® C products that allow surgeons to select the implant that best matches a patient’s anatomy and level of disease. The first two prodisc® C Vivo procedures were performed at HCA Florida Trinity Hospital and Legacy Surgery Center on a 30 year-old man and 63 year-old man respectively.  In each case, the patients were experiencing neck pain along with numbness and tingling down their arms that were not resolved through conservative care methods.  Dr. Fisher recognized both as Cervical Total Disc Replacement candidates allowing them to maintain motion in the affected area, as opposed to a Cervical Fusion.
